Heavenly scents but Very disappointed.

Shipped on time. Packed in cut up then taped together boxes. Perfume leaked in perfume box discoloring the cloth interior. The gold and black bottles are opaque so you can't tell how much leaked out. I was surprised the bottles were larger than what I expected. All of the scents are heavenly but don't last very long. I was very disappointed and expected a better product considering the price. Wonderful perfume

Bal A Versailles arrived beautifully packaged inside a padded fabric box enclosed in a cardboard box. It's a pity the information on the bottle is just stickers that fall off easily. It's a very strong perfume and although I'm wearing it every day I can only dab the tiniest amount on so this 28ml bottle will last me a very long time.



I also wish there were some notes with the perfume explaining it's composition. I really don't know how to describe the scent except that I really like it. It's a heavy scent but not overpowering. It's the perfume that MJ used to wear (according to his makeup artist Karen Faye).More detail ...

An Intoxicating Ambrosia

I used to have a maddening collection of colognes and perfumes. I love walking by anyone - male or female - and having my olfactories stimulated by warm caressing scents of candy citrus cedar sandalwood licorice... you name it. Dressing to look your best caters only to the eye but to engage someone with the sense of smell is a slightly more intimate and therefore tricky pursuit. I still love colognes but I'm more choosy now and I've curbed my collection to just one or two fragrances that not only work well for my skin and body chemistry but are truly original and break away from the fragrance glut that has exploded in the last two decades.



Acqua di Parma created a new fragrance collection called Blu Mediterraneo. It contains five fragrances in all but the one that I really favored was Arancia di Capri. It's a fine ambrosia whose crisp and relaxing top notes of citrus (specifically lemon orange tangerine and grapefruit) suggest a subtle but clear first impression. As it dissipates into woody and musky bottom notes its more masculine traits are more artfully asserted. Also included in the heart and bottom notes are petitgrain blends and essence of maté leaves. There are also caramel blends in the base notes warming the fragrance as it remains on the skin.



Different concentrations in a perfume's aromatic compounds signify the type of perfume it is. A fragrance sold as Perfume Extract typically has a 20% concentration of perfume oils. Eau de Parfum is anywhere from 10 - 20% concentration Eau de Toilette is generally 5 - 15% Eau de Cologne 3 - 8% and splash or aftershave 1-3%. Arancia di Capri is sold as an Eau de Toilette. A two ounce bottle of Arancia di Capri retails for about [...] the four ounce bottle retails [...].



As stated on the packaging Arancia di Capri's ingredients include: Alcohol Denat Aqua (water) Parfum (fragrance) Limonene Linalool Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate Butylphenyl Methylpropional PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil Butyl Methooxydibenxoylmethane Ethylhexyl Salicylate Citral BHT Geraniol Benzyl Alchohol Disodium EDTA Citronellol.



Being aware of ingredients in your cosmetics and fragrances is not only environmentally conscious but it's also smart. Many people tend to be allergic to perfumes and some reactions range from a headache to coughing wheezing runny nose teary eyes sneezing or rash. For an old and reputable perfume-maker like Acqua di Parma I mistakenly thought that price would be an indication of purity of ingredients. However even for old companies and products it's hard to find any that don't go through formula revisions in response to changing availability of resources and economic factors. While Arancia di Capri includes essential oils and natural ingredients (Limonene Castor Oil) they often are blended with fixatives or bases that aren't natural. Good perfumes can convey a certain sensibility and for me Arancia di Capri distinctly recalls the scent of citrus groves at their ripe peak lifted by warm summer breezes sun-drenched and calming as it is inspiring. There's no scientific term to explain this just my personal association with this product. Arancia di Capri is a really inviting and crisp scent. Delicate yet distinct tastefully fragrant yet still unmistakably unisex Capri is versatile for almost any occasion. elegant and intoxicating fragrance

I just got this for my birthday after trying a sample and it's one of my favorite fragrances - It's aromatic but not heavy on the patchouli just enough to give that slight ethereal feel to it. I have a hard time defining the fragrance other than it's just so elegant and refined and different from most perfumes which are either too sweet or too heavy on the spice or too fresh i.e. citrus. Lovely nice and creamy - great way to layer the scent

The bottle I have is smaller (came as a part of the set) and I'd definitely like to get more. This body lotion is a terrific way to layer the lovely scent of For Her extending the length of time that the scent clings to your skin while at the same time moisturizing your skin. The lotion is nice and creamy and sinks quickly into your skin - it doesn't leave you feeling all greasy. It leaves you feeling nicely moisturized for hours afterwards. Challenging... in a good way.

When I first sniffed Black Orchid in a magazine sample before it was released I was captivated by the dark roundness of the scent and promised myself to try it once it got on the market. Thus was the beginning of my love/hate affair with Black Orchid.



I got a sample of it at the department store and LOVED it. This is truly a complex daring sensual and sophisticated scent that smells like none of the current musk/flower/fruit celebrity fragrances out there. It opens heady and strong but settles into something dark and warm. Great staying power. There's something in this scent that smells like decadence on the verge of decay but never quite gets there. This is what makes Black Orchid especially intriguing and sexual -- the hint of feralness underneath the sophistication. To me the complexity of this scent makes it incredibly emotional. You're struggling with yourself when you smell it. Is it gorgeous? Is it disgusting? Is it gorgeous because it is disgusting? When you smell it the memory of it WILL stay with you for a long time.



The only reason I docked off a star is because it MIGHT not work on all skins all the time. When I first applied it to my skin several months ago something in the perfume turned on my skin chemistry and it dried down into a disgustingly sour stench. But today I decided to return to my vial (the same one!) to give it another go and this time it didn't turn at all and faded out gracefully. (Thank God! I can go back to adoring this perfume without it hating me!)



Black Orchid is a round dark smooth luxurious and sensual scent. And at the same time it's incredibly tempestuous and challenging. I really hope this scent sticks around and becomes a classic for the very fact that it is what it is: not willing to just be another fluffy "general" smell that everybody will find "pretty."
